About Us

Elisabeth Fekonia has her own style and uses the bright colours of pastels and panpastels in her work.

Every artist has their own particular style and it’s no different to Elisabeth’s work. The objective is to create images that express the inner person rather than a photographic rendering of a portrait. Artistic expression is a very important aspect of art and as the saying goes, a picture paints a thousand words.

Our History

Elisabeth attended the Brisbane College of art from 1972 till 1974. Life drawing was always her passion and the human form has nearly always figured in her works. Oil on canvas and later acrylics with pastels were adopted and this resulted in three solo exhibitions on the Sunshine Coast and in Brisbane. ‘A portait of Kin Kin’ was shown in Kin Kin a small Noosa Shire township and was quite a success. The second art show was titled ‘The Ginger Pickers”and was shown at the Yandina ginger factory and half the paintings were sold as well. The third art show was through a Queensland government grant in 1991 and this show was also called ‘A portrait of Kin Kin’. Her fourth solo art show was held at the Pomona Railway Station gallery depicting nudes in pastel and panpastel. including portraits as well.

A thirty year break in practicing her art is now set to continue again. Elisabeth had established a very successful business as a mobile permaculture teacher teaching mostly cheese making, sourdough bread and lactic fermentation. She is slowly phasing out the permaculture business and resuming her art career.
